Each year the peak telecommunications body for the Pacific, the Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) makes a number of innovation awards. In 2019 BSCC was honored to receive the Best Quality of Life Improvement award for its work completing Palau’s first subsea international cable connection, PC1, in 2017. PC1’s high speed connectivity transformed all aspects of life in Palau, which had previously been dependent on limited satellite communications.
